Niño de Elche

A mutant, iconoclast, challenging and febrile, with the constant aim to destroy labels. Niño de Elche is one of the artists who has contributed the most to flamenco in terms of both discourse and aesthetic. His code is the performance. This unpredictable and essential figure in the contemporary Spanish musical panorama is revolutionising the genre with his new project.  In his Antología del cante... Niño de Elche gives free rein to his particular vision of cante jondo (Flamenco singing) and turns it on its head. Through several artistic proposals he has managed to mix the classic with disciplines such as electronics, literature, spoken-word, rock, singer-songwriting and contemporary music. Now he has returned with a Molotov cocktail that will revolutionise different styles through his particular vision: saetas (sacred song in flamenco style), fandangos, seguiriyas and tanguillos will be transformed into musical “tetris blocks”. His sense of humour does not diminish his powerful political message. Extreme duende (magic associated with flamenco) that really stirs up feelings.
