We were already aware of Jordi Casanovas expertise in handling legal documentation and converting it into live, direct theatre, linked to the hottest issues of real life. Ruz-Bárcenas had a tremendous impact: a picture of corruption that even reached the big screen. With Jauría he went back to court. Specifically, the Provincial Court of Navarre, where the controversial process of the ‘wolf pack’ was substantiated. Drawing on the interrogations and testimonies of the victim and offenders, Casanovas creates a detailed and enlightening picture of the events that took place that night during the festival of San Fermín, which ended so terribly. He adds no words nor changes the transcriptions. Pure documentary theatre to which Miguel del Arco impresses his characteristic energy and visual power on stage. The testimonies are of the rape in the hallway and in the trial, where the young woman finds herself surrounded again by a group of men. A cruel parallelism that calls for reflection. Not necessary María Hervás does an excellent job in overcoming the challenge of transmitting her misery and fragility with heart-wrenching credibility. On very few occasions has a theatre production managed to connect with its time in such a radical manner.
