La nena dels pardals

Inspired by a story by Sarah Penny Paker, it is based on real events that took place in China in 1958 when Mao Zedong was in power, La nena dels pardals is a show with a strong emotional aspect, but also an environmental and social justice message. In the 50´s, the Chinese dictator ordered a campaign to kill sparrows in order to prevent them eating grain. The campaign was a success, but the elimination of the little birds led to the uncontrolled spread of all kinds of insects, which caused great losses to the harvests, much worse than those caused by the sparrows.
