Probably written between 1608 and 1609, Coriolanus is considered to be one of Shakespeare’s last creations. It portrays a military hero incapable of subduing the eagerness for glory that her mother has been cultivating since the first days of his life. It also depicts a town that is manipulated by its rulers, and an aristocracy desiring to appropriate the figure of the hero.

The spectator constantly faces moral doubts in front of the construction of the figure of a tyrant and the responsibility of those who, due to particular interests, take part in this process. Coriolanus is a text with an undeniable relation to our contemporary world.
