Are we too old to believe in monsters?

Conor is only 13 years old, but he perfectly knows what is going to happen right after midnight. He will experience the same nightmare again, a “nightmare in the darkness, with strong winds and screams.” It has been like this since his mother got ill.

Nonetheless, this nights seems to be different. Conor hears a voice that calls him from the garden. In front of the house, there is an old church with its graveyard and an old tree, a yew transformed into a monster in front of Conor’s eyes.

Together with this monster, Conor sets out on a new adventure every night in order to escape his own fears until he becomes courageous enough to face his worst nightmare, his own story: reality.
