Coloma is a chronological play that takes place between the last years of Franco's regime and the beginning of the 21st century. It is the story of a whole generation of islanders who forged their character and their particular vision of the world on the basis of historical events of great importance, such as the Spanish transition and the Balearic tourist boom.
The protagonist's name gives the play its title. And it is not just any name; it is a symbol. Coloma is a girl who keeps evolving just like her surroundings and the times she has had to live in. Coloma is the portrait of a woman, a family, and a Mallorcan society that has to face her era and the cultural and ideological shock that tourism represents.
