The choirs of the Teatre Principal gather together to perform the end of season concert. Throughout the concert, the four groups present a sample of the repertoire they have been working on throughout the year. Lyrical and operatic pieces will be combined with other traditional pieces and those from their international repertoire.
It must be highlighted that on Saturday 7th July, the three affiliated choirs (Petitons, Infantil and Juvenil) will present Brundibar, the children’s opera composed by Hans Krása in 1938. It premiered in Prague, in secret in a Jewish centre when its author had already been deported. Between 1942 and 1944 it was performed over 50 times in the Theresienstadt concentration camp to try to improve the life of the Jewish children detained there.
