Infanticida is the cry of Nela, a woman who tries to find a glimmer of light in a dark and desolate world. A brave and passionate woman who confronts everything that surrounds her with a longing for freedom, with the desire to find her own way of doing and living. She is driven by the need for love, pleasure and escape from the oppressive context she finds herself immersed in. The need to find a contemporary, new, fragmented vision of events in music; but above all, to approach the sensory, emotional and dreamlike world of a woman who has just committed a crime through music. The monologue gives voice to a woman, the author of which had to silence herself in order to be free as an artist. La Infanticida was not premièred until sixty years after it was written because it was an uncomfortable play - it questioned pre-established dogmas about the role of women in society. Caterina Albert broke a myth that had been previously impossible to dispel: the maternal instinct. We feel it is our duty to give her a voice today.

The press says
