In Malditas plumas (Wretched feathers) Choreographer and dancer Sol Picó goes through the different events in the life of a character from the Paralelo cabaret in Barcelona, a journey between tenderness and decadence. In this story, the audience will get to know the stories lived by this vedette from the Paralelo, her memories, her experiences and life events… but, what if she did never really become a vedette and it was just a dream, a vital projection or an unfulfilled wish? Perhaps all of it is nothing but a delirium leading us to a very specific place and time and connecting us with the most human and therefore more universal of feelings: the fear to death. To degradation, to loss… to fading away.
This show, inspired by the genre of the Spanish revue and its cunning, plays with transformation, with the interaction with the audience and with the confusion between fiction and reality, all of it well seasoned with the irony and the sense of humour that so well characterize Sol Picó’s language.
