On Goldberg Variations/Variations is a show based on the music of Goldberg Variations/Variations by French-American pianist and composer Dan Tapfer, combining the Goldberg Variations by J. S. Bach with his improvised variations using the same harmonies. Dance, John Berger's vocals, original texts, a manipulated and multifocal soundtrack, live vocals and video projections all combine to bring us Mal Pelo’s unique approach to the universe of Bach.
The choreography plays with each performer's particular musicality and the rhythmic and dynamic dialogue between the group and space. Following on from the world tour of María Muñoz’s show Bach, this show is the second stage proposal of The Bach Project. This trilogy focuses on the study of the music of Bach and its relationship with choreography writing.
