Life should blow up in our faces more often... The performer Agnès Mateus and the multidisciplinary artist Quim Tarrida present a bold and vibrant show that will not fail to make an impression on spectators. Rebota rebota y en tu cara explota, (Bounce, bounce and blow up in your face), 2017 Critics Prize for New Trends, is a stark reflection on gender-based violence and the social passivity with which we accept this aggression that has become a part of our daily lives. A work that offers a raw dissection (and without any form of anaesthesia) of the silence towards very topical matters such as machismo motivated murders, the patriarchal system and violence against women. A show of denunciation in order to begin to call a spade a spade and overcome fear. A show against contemporary taboos and our hypocrisy. Having said that, one that is told with lots of humour. Lots of caustic humour. Agnès breaks down and laughs at all the clichés. Laughter that is sarcastic, combined with direct punches to the stomach.
